Jewellery Care

GENERAL CARE INSTRUCTION

Long live our jewellery! We do our best to provide you with tarnish free jewellery. So what we ask you to do is avoid contact with cosmetics, perfumes and body products.

You also want to be careful with moisture, chemicals, chlorine and salt water. It can really hurt your beautiful piece of jewellery that you have purchased and tarnish overtime.

Did you know that your body creates oils? Everyone has a different level of perspiration, so this means some oils are more acidic than others which may cause discolouration or oxidisation to your jewellery.

To help keep your jewellery with lasting beauty, keep your jewellery in the pouch provided and avoid heat and moisture.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELLERY BASED ON THE JEWELLERY TYPE

GOLD FILLED

So what does gold filled mean? It simply means the jewellery piece is covered in solid gold on the outer layer over the brass base metal which is a combination of copper and zinc. To qualify as gold filled jewellery, it will need a minimum of 5% solid gold of the weight of the jewellery piece.

The benefits of purchasing gold filled jewellery is that it becomes more resistant to tarnish. In saying so it doesn't mean it’s impossible to tarnish. Gold filled jewellery can tarnish if not taken care of. So if you wear the jewellery piece during excessive or rough circumstances, it will most likely tarnish.

Here are our cleaning tips for gold filled jewellery:

  • Place your piece under chemical free water and rub the jewellery gently with soft material such as a soft toothbrush or cotton tip.
  • Dry with a paper towel or cloth.
